Gregg Robinson
Born in Seattle, Washington in 1948, Gregg Robinson attended Simon Fraser University and the University of Washington before studying at the Brooks Art Institute in California.
Robinson’s precise, geometric style is most reminiscent of the classic modernism noted in the Bauhaus of the 1920’s.
Robinson’s intent is to create strong, high contrast images dominated by black-on-light pattern and saturated primary colour. Robinson successfully blends the classic hard-edged abstraction of Mondrian with a romantic soft abstraction defined by diffused colour within selected forms.
