The Gunnar Nordstrom  Gallery is pleased to introduce to the northwest, Russian born and Southern  California resident, Svetlana Shalygina.

Shalygina brings a fresh look and new work to the  gallery that has an organic appeal that is elegant in its simplicity. Figurative  and color driven, the elongated figures and color palette have a tribal quality  to them, yet they also represent the "common person" as they could be anyone.  While her work is very contemporary, it appeals to the viewer on a personal  level without leaving you cold or separated.
