"A Fine Red" Challenger Ridge
While doing a cascade loop with friends we ran across this charming winery in Concrete, Washington. We were surprised to see a vineyard in the foothills of Western Washington and decided to drop in. They were having an event for members, but immediately welcomed us to join in. We had a great time sampling their wine (especially the Pinot, which they grow in Concrete ) and appetizers, sitting on their comfortable front porch and exploring their vineyard. We purchased a few bottles of one of their blends, which we laid down. We opened those bottles two years later and were pleased to find they were even better than we remembered. A fine red, indeed.
